Is it really 2011?

Hard to believe that we have closed the book on 2010 and 2011 is waiting to unfold before us. For me 2010 was all in all a good year. It has had its share of ups and downs but ultimately I am very blessed. God has blessed me with so many people in my life that have been  total blessing and support. I am learning more and more everyday not just the true meaning but the depth of God's love for me. I have continued a journey of healing and discovery. Friendships continue to grow and become more than I ever dreamed they could be. I have to say that I could not be a luckier person to not only have my blood related nieces and nephews but several other children who are a big part of my lives.....even those who live all the way in Tennessee :) I am thankful for my family, as incredibly difficult as it can be at times, I do love them very much. I prayed tonight that God would continue to open my eyes and continue this path of learning and healing and that I would do some things better in this new year. I also pray for all of you, and want to thank anyone reading this for being such a big part of my life and for loving me for me! I look forward to getting to spend another year with amazing people.

"Geno"

So we have kicked off the start of one of my FAVORITE times of year! Football Season!!! Both College and NFL. Those who know me and know me well are probably celebrating with me or rolling their eyes at me :) I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to post the story of how I got the nickname "Geno" from none other than the McFadden's or Emily and Ryan.

The whole McFadden, Clay and Troxell clan had taken a trip up to Long Beach, WA for a weekend. There was camping, shopping, beach walking, playing with kids (I think Wyatt was under a year old at this time), Asher was I would guess 3 or 4 and Carson was little little. It also happened to be the weekend of a Duck's game against Stanford if my memory serves me correctly. So on the Saturday of the game we were all deciding on what we wanted to do and of course the guys, me and one other gal wanted to go watch the Ducks game. So we headed off on our own to a place to catch the game. We all had so much fun screaming at the TV at the bad calls or when the Duck's would score and of course when they got the big W....I....N..... It was a BLAST! Anyway, the Duck's won!!!! YAY! We caught up with the rest of the group and headed back to the campground for the evening. Ryan, Emily, Cresslyn and I were sharing a little cottage type house. I turned on the TV and was flipping through the channels for something to watch. I come across SportsCenter and was like "Sweet"! I'll get to see what else happened in the wonderful land of sports today! Dearest Emily looks over at me and says something like "Jenna, don't you get tired of watching sports?", I say "No way". And then she says "Why aren't you a guy?" I start laughing as I hear Ryan yell "EMILY!!!" "What would her name be "GENO?!!!!" And ever since that day my name has been "Geno"

I love this story and even more so the sentiment behind it. Wyatt calls me Geno and I know Allegra will too becuase I will never be around the McFadden's and here any other name! Love you guys!
